This grassroots project is completely supported by fundraising and a few generous donations from supporters, such as Switzerland’s Ahmad Jahan Foundation. The Ahmad Jahan Foundation has generously donated the majority of funds to date, not only providing the initial “seed money” for the essential multipurpose buildings, like the Community Center and the Youth Hostel, but also for the construction of the first two school blocks. We have as well been fortunate to have donors from teenagers raising money in their high schools, university students organizing fund-raisers, university professors making anonymous donations to organizations and businesses simply pitching in to help in the cause of local community empowerment. We, of course, cannot overlook the donation of land by Chief Chilowa, who has been a strong advocate of her community’s success.
All donations to Transformative Praxis: Malawi go directly into campus efforts. These can include salaries for workers, materials for school construction, funds to start community initiatives or resources for the school and campus. No donations fund the volunteer efforts of non-Malawians. 100% of donations made to TPM are used to fund current and future projects and construction on the campus.
